Barbara C. Davis, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018. Barbara was born January 21, 1937, to Marcella Margaret (Ernest) and Alva Armstrong Sturges. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Davis. She leaves her brother, Robert Lee Sturges; children, Michael R.Davis and his wife Karen; Robert Davis and his wife Donna; and Karen Cleary; grandchildren, Lauren Williams, Gregory Davis, Gary Davis, Stacy Eaton, Christopher Davis, Nicole Cleary and Andrew Cleary; great grandchildren, Julia Williams, Lily Williams, Rowen Davis, Emmy Davis, Greenley Davis, Tyson Eaton and Riley Eaton.
Barbara and family lived in Town of Tonawanda, NY where she worked at Tri Delta Aggregates rising to the position of CFO. After sailing their Catalina 36 from Lake Ontario south to Florida, Barbara and Richard fell in love with and settled in Melbourne.
Barbara was Brevard County Republican Party Chairman 2010-2016, Republican Party of Florida Chairman of the Caucus of County, 2016 Florida Delegate to the Republican National Convention, Past President and Treasurer of the Brevard Federated Republican Women, 2014 Chairman Award, presented by Republican Party of Florida Chairman Leslie Dougher, Board member of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fund Program, 2018 Nominee “Women of Excellence Award” by the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Central Brevard Library Board, Member of the Commodore John Barry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and member of Kiwi Tennis Club.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, December 6, at Beach Funeral Home East, 1689 S. Patrick Dr., Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, December 7, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 3050 N. Hwy A1A, Indialantic, FL 32903.
Burial will be in Florida Memorial Gardens.
