Condolence: Dear Lori,

Both Natalie and I are very saddened to hear this news.
Our blessings and deepest sympathy go out to you Lori..

Al is certainly in a better place now but we sure had quite a few late night laughs at the curling club in several bonspiels over the years.

I shall miss the Rabbi Burns and the Ode to the Haggis
because that was a fantastic oration and celebration !

with our sincerest condolences,

- Natalie & Rob -

Condolence: Allan was host on Canoe FM just before my show and we often chatted. He so enjoyed cruising and travelling and was always upbeat. Allan was a gentleman and we will miss his friendly smile and listening to him on the radio.

Condolence: I am so sad to hear of Allen's passing. I had the pleasure of volunteering with Allen in Haliburton at CanoeFM radio. He was one of my mentors and assisted me with my training as an on-air host. I enjoyed his taste in music and his dry sense of humour. He made me laugh whenever I was with him. My condolences go out to Lori and his family.

Condolence: Lori and family and friends of Allan,
Being in the office at CanoeFM on Mondays I got to listen to Allan many, many times and was always astounded at the amount of musical knowledge he'd pull out of thin air on every show, and the tales of seeing such and such a band at such and such a time. But the day he was telling a story about seeing Dire Straits in a basement bar before their first album was released made me run down the hall and and soon as the ON AIR light went off I literally yelled, "OMG, that is soooo cool." I will remember that story forever. Thanks for all your help Allan! Your confidence in my DJ abilities meant a lot. Your pal Sal

Condolence: Hi there,

I only had a couple interactions with him. But I do remember that he was my first impression of Canoe FM... my father and I both shared in hearing the joy and knowledge Allan brought to the air, the warm welcoming feeling his voice and tone conveyed genuinely brought a smile to our faces. When I began working at Canoe and finally met Allan I was almost starstruck, here was the man that taught me the word centigrade and had probably forgotten more about music than I would ever know. You have my deepest sympathies and may he rest in peace
