Obituary for Allan Watson

Allan Watson
Allan Watson, an advocate of the 60's “hippy, peace, love dove” movement until the end, Allan left this world on January 10th, 2018. Born in Liverpool England he was Scouse at heart but very proud of his Manx (Isle of Man) and Scottish heritage. Allan and Lori met in 1983 through the North Toronto ski club and considered themselves a “nation of two”; they became inseparable for the next 35 years. He was the only child of Jim and Eileen Watson; nephew of Barbara and her predeceased husband Harry Dean. Cousin (but more like sisters) Kathy Dean and her partner Dan Cross, and Lesley Carter and her husband Norm Carter. Allan will be fondly remembered by his in-laws; “bro” Robert Sheridan and his wife Kate, Vicki and David Smith and Valerie Sheridan. Remembered as Uncle Al to Jeffery and Robyn Amos; David and Laurie Amos; Christopher and Laura Carter; Michelle and Rachel Carter and beautiful god-daughters Lorilee Westbrook, Bobbie Jo Carter and Sarah Carter Austring. Allan lived a life large. He loved singing “funky country-dusty rock'n roll - down home blues” skiing, curling and golf, his dogs, his many friends, his wife, single malt whisky and “Bea” his 1972 MGB. When diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2016 Allan said “You know, I'm cool with this. I have had a great life. I have traveled the world, done all kinds of neat stuff in my work and I have spent over 30 years with you by my side. What more could I ask?” Rock on Allan. YNWA. Join the Wake and Whisky Celebration of his life, friends and family are invited to the Fenelon Falls Curling Club, 41 Bond Street, Fenelon Falls on Saturday January 27th, 2018 from 2-5 pm. Special remembrances to take place at 2:15p.m. For accommodations for out of town guests: Fenelon Inn, Princess Motel, Bobcaygeon, Days Inn, Lindsay. In honour of the place that brought him so much joy as an on air radio host over the last few years memorial donations can be made to Canoe 100.9 FM, 739 Mountain Street, Box 1125, Haliburton, ON K0M 1S0 or at Mackey Funeral Home Lindsay.
