Life Story for Alfred Lloyd Graves
Alfred Lloyd Graves
Lloyd was born Feb. 26th, 1944 in Newmarket and grew up on the family farm with his sister and two brothers. At a young age he enjoyed working with horses and driving tractors. In highschool Lloyd enjoyed all sports but basketball was his favourite.
After highschool Lloyd attended the University of Waterloo to work on his teaching degree. During his first year of university his parents were killed in a car/train accident. His sister Maude and her husband Bob were happy to have him come and live with them. During that time Lloyd also met the love of his life, Barb, at a basketball game, and two years later they were married.
They both pursued a teaching profession and moved to Lindsay in 1969. Their family life began with Jennifer born in 1973, and Warren in 1975. They attended William Street Baptist Church and later Fairview Baptist Church in 1973. Life was busy and rewarding with teaching, raising children, and participating in church activities. Lloyd also had a passion for coaching highschool sports teams. God has richly blessed them and their family.
