I never thought we would be apart. Janice and I were close beginning in our teens and even before. Our great small world story is that we were born in the same hospital in Edmonton, the Misericordia, where my mother was a labour and delivery nurse the month Janice was born. Since our teens we have been together for: Snowmobile weekends in our jeans, staying in freezing cold snow bound cottages: Developing fake reasons to stay up north (Dianne too): Janice and Gary’s wedding: Our wedding: The birth of Jason, and driving to Les and Lynda’s wedding…Janice huge with Jason and overdue. She drove with her long borrowed bridesmaid gown pulled up over her knees: The birth of Marissa, and the births of my two, Ben and Neil: Weekends in the sun in Pontypool, most Saturday’s enjoying the freedom of a big piece of property for our children, watching them make forts in the bedroom, in the forest, and sledding to their hearts content in the winter. Jason would only run, never walk. We went canoeing and camping with Gary and Rick and they are some of the best moments of my life. We went on over 35 girl’s weekends that began with Janice, Dianne, Lynda Dennison, Sharon, Eleanor and myself. We organized Halloween for our children in Janetville, and I have great pictures. Janice and Gary were the first couple to join us in a meal in our new house in Fenelon on a cold New Year’s eve. She and I shared a new hobby of photography and took courses, that felt more like vacations. Wow, we learned so much and had a lot fun. We have shared our lives, and I had so much more planned. Bye Janice, I love you.

We were saddened to hear about the loss of Janice. Tree was talking about knowing her for over 40 years and all of the wonderful memories that go with that. Our hearts are with all the family and friends who loved her dearly.
