Although not licenced funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Doug Rice, Funeral Director's Assistant Email: info@mackeys.ca Office Phone: 705-328-2721 Fax: 705-328-3831 Doug has been with the Mackey Funeral Home for over nine years in his position as a Funeral Director's Assistant.  Daily Doug participates in the care and maintenance of the entire building, premises and vehicles.  During visitation and funeral services, Doug assists in the care of the families we serve.  He was a graduate of Sir Sandford Fleming College, Peterborough in the Audio Visual Technician program.  Originally from Cabbagetown, Toronto he has resided in Lindsay for 33 years and happy to call it home.  Doug shows his love of music through the playing of his guitar and singing.  He is actively involved in the community at many fundraisers with his band Flashback.

Earl Thurston, Funeral Director's Assistant Email: info@mackeys.ca Office Phone: 705-328-2721 Fax: 705-328-3831 Earl has been actively involved in his position as a Funeral Director's Assistant with the Mackey Funeral Home for 12 years.  Earl was born and raised north of Lindsay and has enjoyed living in the same area his entire life.  He has been married to his wife Marion for over 58 years, and is the proud father of five children and six grandchildren.  Earl was a dedicated local farmer for 30 years.  He also spent 16 years as a Mill Foreman at a Seed Feed Fertilizing Business and 18 years seeing the beautiful countryside as a Tour Bus Driver.
