Obituary for Grant Raven

Grant Raven - Passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the North York General Hospital. Grant, at the age of 73, was the loving husband of Carol, for 53 years. He was the cherished father of Tim and his wife Cathy, and Karen and her husband Glen Harris. Precious grandfather of Shelby, Adam, Paige and Mark. Grant is survived by his sister Sandra (John), his brother Harold (Valerie) and special brothers Bill (Marj) and Rob (Rita). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and extended family. Former Owner & President of Lindsay Paper Box, Past President of the Lindsay Curling Club, Past President of the Lindsay & Area Crime Stoppers, 25 Year Lindsay Lions Club Member, Former Member of the Kawartha Manufacturers Association and Recipient of the Business Man of the Year Award in 2008. Grant was an avid fisherman, who loved his time at the cottage with family and friends, where he could laugh, tease them and look after them all, nothing made him happier. At Grant’s request cremation has taken place. A Celebration Party will be held at the Pie Eyed Monk Brewery, Upstairs Hall, 8 Cambridge Street North, Lindsay on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., please bring your memories to share. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721). Online condolences may be made at www.mackeys.ca. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lindsay Lions Club (PO Box 745, Lindsay, Ontario K9V 4W9) towards the purchase of a Guide Dog in Grant’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
