Obituary for Janet Dean
After a lengthy illness, we sadly announce the passing of Janet Elizabeth Dean (nee Coombs) on May 26th at the age of 67. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Greg (Lisa), Jonathan, and Mathew (Brooke), by her brothers and sister; John (Marilyn), Sandra (the late George), and Glenn (Jo). Janet was predeceased by her parents Caley and Edith Coombs and her siblings; Ken (survived by Joan), Garry (survived by Virginia) and Sheron. She will also be forever remembered by her numerous nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Janet lived her entire life in Lindsay, Ontario. She attended LCVI and returned to school in later years to graduate. Janet worked at a number of places in Lindsay, including Crayola, LCVI, Union Carbide and Viskase. She was always working on improving herself and went to college in her 50’s to become a PSW. Janet loved to travel and was able to take some dream vacations to France, Spain, Italy and Greece. Mom loved to laugh and enjoyed a good dirty limerick and faithfully drank one and a half Canadians most Sunday afternoons. Visitation will take place at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay, Wednesday, May 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel the following day at 11:00 a.m. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army Lindsay would be appreciated by the family.
