Obituary for Bill Nicholson

Bill Nicholson
Bill (Thomas William George) Nicholson, of Toronto and recently Lindsay, Ontario - Died peacefully on April 24, 2018 in Lindsay Ontario at 78 years old. He was survived by his wife Carol, their 3 children Matthew, Melisa and Mandy (Amanda) Nicholson, 7 grandchildren and their dog.
He will be dearly missed but finally can stop hearing “Bill take your pills!” He can rest, and put his feet up on whatever furniture he wants, with one slipper on and one slipper off.
Wife Carol will continue on reading all Bill’s friends email jokes but deeply miss their 55 years of togetherness and late night swims in backyard. Bill’s great sense of humor and sarcasm will live on through Mandy, Grandson Noah and Granddaughter Mackenzie. Melisa will keep sunning on a lawn chair and eating apple fritters for him. Matthew will continue on with Dad’s motto of “Team First, Personal Achievement second, I’m always proud of you”. Grandpa’s profile and chin will live on in Grandson Ethan. Both Grandsons Mitchell and Ethan will continue to grow facial hair nonstop like Grandpa. Grandson Gregory will keep up the love for outdoors and bird watching and Mackenzie will continue with the traditional Christmas photos in her pajamas. Granddaughter Jordyn will happily eat popsicles for him, but will miss putting makeup on Poppa in their tutorials. Grandson Steven will take over getting lost driving to medical appointments and knowing where every medical facility is. The dogs of course, will keep farting like Bill whenever and wherever they want, with no apologies.
He will be missed, but boy do we have stories and memories to share. We will celebrate his life later in the summer. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay Ontario (705)328-2721
Special Thanks to the Scarborough General Oncology Department and most recently the Ross Memorial Hospital teams. You were all fantastic and we are so thankful. Bill wants you all to know … he finally made his escape!
