Condolence From: Ric Mackey
Condolence: I knew Rick for a long time. First as my CPR/AED instructor with the fire department and then at the hockey rink as a teammate, Friday nights. Eventually, when he was a paramedic in Lakefield, we would meet often on medical calls. He was a wonderful teacher, an excellent paramedic and a great defenceman. He would welcome your questions, guide you (and everyone) through difficult times and then share a joke.
I'm very sorry I'll miss his celebration, but ironically, I'll be at my mandatory CPR/AED recertification. We will all be thinking of him.
On May 12, I'll be walking in Ricks' name at the Walk for ALS.
My deepest condolences to his family on their loss.

Condolence: Copeland Family,
We have many wonderful memories of Rick through Don & Mary"s porch snd driveway talks..always a big wave out of the ambulance whenever he seen us..and many training sessions with Selwyn Fire Department. He was a great guy who definitely left an impact on whomever he met. He will be missed.

Condolence: Dear Kelly, Brendan, Mikayla and Maddie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I only met your dad and grandfather a few times but remember him as being kind and friendly. I know that he was loved by all and that he was a super granddad.

Condolence From: Canadian Red Cross
Condolence: On behalf of the Canadian Red Cross I am extending condolences to Rick's family, friends and loved ones.
Rick was very dedicated and highly thought of as a Training Partner and Instructor for Canadian Red Cross First Aid programs. He was instrumental in the development of the original First Responder Program and championed providing First Aid and AED training in his community. Rick will be dearly missed but not forgotten.

Condolence: I didn't know Rick long but I did like him so much. He was a kind, thoughtful and funny man. I know he was a wonderful father to Kelly and that Brendan lucked out in fathers-in-law. He was also an adoring grandfather to Mikayla and Maddy. I know how you must all be grieving and my thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Love Aunt Barb

Condolence From: Sherry Webster
Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I had the pleasure of knowing Rick through the Selwyn Fire Department and will miss seeing his smiling face and stories every time he came in to either work or just visit us. Rick did all of the Fire Departments First Aid courses so he was around a lot. Rick will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a trooper through all of this. RIP Rick.
