Obituary for Gerald William Kellett

Gerald William Kellett
Gerald William Kellett - Left the earth May 25 surrounded by family and love in his 65th year. When asked in his last days by an attending doctor what defined him, his answer was simple and immediate: "my family". Described by the palliative care staff as a "small army", Gerald leaves behind his beloved and cherished wife Barb (Zylstra) of almost 45 years, his ten children: Teresa (Don Jordan), Elaine (Frank Kelly), Mike (Julie), Jason (Beckie), Dave (Sky), Steve (Amanda), Grace (Joe Collicutt), Kevin (Julie), Heather and Wayne. His fifteen grandchildren: Emily, Spencer, Morgan, Rachel, Tyler, Ryan, Emma, Owen, Connor, Conner, Seth, Eowyn, Foster, Mary and Rose. Gerald was quick to laugh, share his love of farming and steadfastly committed to family and community. He is predeceased by his parents Grace and Morley Kellett and leaves behind his much loved brother Bruce and sister Doris (Perry Grandel). He will be missed by many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at Jennings Creek Christian Reformed Church where he has worshipped for almost 50 years. Visitation Tuesday May 30 from 3-5 and 7-9 and funeral May 31 at 1 pm. Committal to follow immediately at Fallis Cemetery where he will rest with many generations of his family. Memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to Jennings Creek Christian Reformed Church or a charity of your choice. Much thanks to the RMH Palliative Care staff, Hospice volunteers, Dr. Clements and the nurses on the third floor for kindness and care. "I am but waiting for you, for an interval somewhere very near, just round the corner"
