Obituary for Doris May Middleton (Malcolm)

MIDDLETON, Doris May (nee Malcolm), in her 92nd year, peacefully with family by her side, in Lindsay, on May 22, 2017. Daughter of the late Franklin and Edith Malcolm from the Markham area. Doris will always be remembered by her loving son Wayne (Sue) and daughter Brenda Dike (Ron), grandson Michael (Holly), granddaughter Sarah Baptist (Steve), great grandsons David and Isaac. She is survived by her brother Stanley Malcolm (Katherine). Lovingly remembered by Ernest Walton Middleton (deceased). Predeceased by sister Edith Battersby (Albert), and brother Grant Malcolm (Eleanor deceased). Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Verne Middleton (Anna deceased), and sister in-law Jean Bradshaw (Jack deceased). Fondly remembered by many close friends, nieces and nephews, and extended family. Always seen with her faithful companion Scottie dog, Kayla May. Doris worked in the Actuarial Department at Manufacturers Life Headquarters from 1944 to 1951. Music was an important part of her life. She studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto attaining her teacher’s certificate. From 1971 to 1991 Doris passed on her love of music to her many piano students and continued to be a volunteer pianist for the Community Care program in Lindsay. Resting at Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay. Visitation will be Sunday, May 28th, 3:00-5:00 and Monday, May 29th, 1:30 – 3:30, Funeral Service will be Monday, May 29th, at 3:30, followed by reception at 4:30.
