LaPorte, Donald William ‘Don’ – Owner & Operator of Don’s Auto Shampoo – Peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay. Don was the beloved husband of Audress LaPorte, for 56 years. Loving father of Carolyn Hemminger (Jerry), Shelly Scott (Michael), and Kathy LaPorte (Scott Kellam). Cherished grandfather of Rob (Megan) and Jeff (Victoria) Hemminger, and Shelby and Madison Scott; and great granddaughter Olivia. Don is survived by his siblings Doris Winters (the late Cecil), Ed LaPorte (the late Linda), Barb Nesbitt (Ken), and Jim (Carolyn); he is predeceased by his parents Frank and Gladys and siblings Frank (survived by Doris “Louie”), Dianna Smith (survived by John), Dave (survived by Marilyn), and Clara Higgins (survived by Howard). He will be remembered always by his sisters-in-law Loretta Lamb (Dave), and Sharon McKay, and by all of his nieces, nephews and extended families. Visitation will be at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Kawartha Lakes or Community Care Foundation Kawartha Lakes, would be appreciated by the family.
