Ellmore Bruce Gilbert~ Born in 1915 in Toronto, passed away peacefully at the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Mary Street, on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017. Ellmore in his 103rd year was predeceased by his beloved wife of 73 years, Winnifred (2009), son-in-law Gilbert Hueser (1993), Robert Slade (2017) and 1 Grandchild. Survived by his loving children Shirley, Elaine Hueser (Bill Donnell), Ron (Wendy) and John (Maryanne), his 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, especially Patricia Blackstock and long-time friends Dorthea Robbins, and Brenda and Al Hinchcliffe. Mom and Dad spent their retirement years between their cottage in Kirkfield and their home in Florida before moving to Lindsay. Dad was an avid gardener, spending many hours tending his vegetables. His talents were many and he never stopped learning, even taking up carving in his 80's. Family and friends are invited to the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Friday, December 22nd. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
