Obituary for Ellen Ethel Jackson (Eaglestone)

Bon Voyage. Ellen Jackson died at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay March 25 2018 at 4:50 pm. She died in the company of her Son Anthony and Daughter Averil. Her death followed a very brief illness lasting two days. Ellen was alert almost to the end; spending her last evening with Anthony solving ‘cryptic’ crosswords and discussing how best to cook pheasant. Her last memories experienced with Anthony by her side were of the country garden they had in England in 1965 with the birds and greenhouses. She had a long, fascinating and productive life spanning the reigns of four monarchs and ten decades; the mid 1920’s, 1930’s, World War Two, the Cold War and the first two decades of the twenty first century. She will forever be in the memories of Anthony and his wife Melanie, Averil and Doug (her husband) and Grandchildren Amber and Aiden as well as great-grandchildren Mollie, Lauren and Carson. One of the last ‘Grand Old Ladies’. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721). Online condolences may be made at www.mackeys.ca.
