The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Bright Davey Dyke can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Jim DeFlorio
Condolence: Dear Penny, Braden and Family. Please know that you are all in my thoughts during this time of loss. I did not know Bob, but I do know that I would have enjoyed his friendship because of his passion for our fisheries. Keep the memories of the time you had together close to your heart!

Condolence: Penny, Braden and family: So very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a kind gentle soul. Bob was always there to help anyone that needed it. When I first came to Lindsay District to start my career as a Conservation Officer Bob went out of his way to help me learn the job. I fondly remember Bob and I putting together the first Fisheries Habitat case in the district...it was a success. Bob was also one to have all the equipment used in our job in tip top working order. If you took a boat out that Bob had worked on, you knew it would also bring you back to the dock. He was a dedicated CO and a friend to many. He will always be in my memory. Rest In Peace Bob, you did make a difference not only in protecting the wildlife resources of Ontario but in the lives of everyone that had the good fortune to meet you.

Condolence From: Bob Beecher
Condolence: I had the good fortune of working for several years with Bob in MNR’s Lindsay District, immediately following the “Reorganization” in the early 1970s that began transforming Lands & Forests into the Ministry of Natural Resources. Together with our Fish & Wildlife colleagues, we shared a common commitment for the welfare of our natural resources and Bob served as a shining example of how to translate that commitment into everyday action – on the job and in the community. In addition to his good nature and competence, Bob played a key role in the training and mentoring of many of us young bucks (at that time!) as we cut our teeth on the field realities of dealing not only with fisheries resources, but also with the people who use, enjoy and rely upon them. I respect Bob for who he was and I always enjoyed any opportunities to work with him in the field. Kathy and I offer our condolences to Bob’s loved ones.
