Charles Edward  Faulknor
FAULKNOR, Charles WW II Navy Veteran, passed away in his 94th year to be with his Lord on October 24th at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. He left behind his loving wife, Bernice of 70 years, son; Earle (Denise), Daughter; Karen (Paul Jarvis), five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He had been a postal employee and started as a letter carrier after World War II and was promoted to Supervisor after 8 years and Assistant Post Master of Stoney Creek. Later a Post Master of Ajax and Etobicoke, he worked in the Toronto District office in Method and Standards, he later became Post Master of Owen Sound, Cambridge and Guelph. He had been retired for 38 years. Charlie was active in baseball and bowling, he managed the 1957 Ontario Championship Junior Baseball team. Charles was a member of Philpott Memorial Church, Hamilton and adherent at Fairview Baptist in Lindsay. Memorial Service will be held at Fairview Baptist, Lindsay on Thursday October 27th at 2:00p.m. Burial Service at White Chapel Cemetery, Hamilton at a later date. Donations to Philpott Memorial Church or Fairview Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family and may be made through Mackey Funeral home or online at www.mackeys.ca.
